Paper Pieced Beautiful You Card

Welcome back for another card from my collection using the Beautiful You stamps from Stampin' Up!  This version shows you another way to add colour to your images.  Here Designer Series Paper takes center stage as well as a background roll.

So how do you do it?  First, stamp the image in Island Indigo ink on Sahara Sand card and then stamp it again on some patterned paper.  I have used the Blooms and Bliss papers.  Next, fussy cut the dress and the umbrella out and layer them on top of the image on the Sahara Sand card.  Her wardrobe is only limited to your supply of pretty paper!

I used the Stitched Framelit dies to create an oval frame around the lady.  The card is finished by adding a strip of paper down the side, with a ribbon tied in a bow, and a message at the bottom.  Voila!

Then I wondered if I could create the illusion of rain.  She is, after all holding an umbrella.  I tried embossing the layer with the Softly Falling embossing folder, and I'm really happy with the result. It is raining in the background!  A stroke or two with the Wink of Stella pen adds a glisten to the umbrella to add to the rainy illusion.

Two versions of the same card.  Which do you prefer?  In truth, I really can't decide which I like best.  I like both versions equally!
